Bay Area Medical Explorers is a nonprofit organization founded by Kavya Gangasani to help empower youth in pursuing medicine. Our goal is to give ambitious students the opportunity to learn about the medical field and discover whether or not that is the career they would like to pursue. We hope to provide assistance to those who are exploring medicine and we hope they find as much of a love for the subject as us!
To support this mission, Bay Area Medical Explorers offers a range of immersive experiences designed to spark curiosity and build confidence. Through guest speaker events, hands-on workshops, mentorship programs, and community outreach, members gain valuable insights into various healthcare careers. Our initiatives are crafted to help students develop both professional skills and personal clarity as they navigate their potential future in medicine.
Why We Started
As a student who cares deeply about healthcare, Kavya realized how hard it was to find real opportunities to explore the medical field at a younger age. She wanted to change that not just for herself but for anyone who’s curious or unsure about what they want to do in the future.
Kavya started this nonprofit to help students connect, ask questions, and try new things that might spark a passion for medicine. It is not about having everything figured out. It's about learning, growing, and supporting each other along the way.
What began as a small idea between a few students has turned into something bigger: a way to help the next generation of future medical professionals get started early. And we’re just getting started.
